چکیده

at the beginning, which allows multipath to settle before the main data arrives at the receiver. WiMAX supports channel bandwidths of 5 MHz, 7 MHz, 8.75 MHz, and 10 MHz and can optionally support channel bandwidths ranging from 1.25 MHz to 20 MHz. WiMAX supports adaptive modulation and coding in both downlink and uplink with variable packet size. The channel bandwidth scalability, variable length of cyclic prefix, and adaptive modulation and coding technologies enable mobile WiMAX to provide higher performance than today’s wide area wireless technologies. The implementation of these advanced technologies and the deployment of mobile WiMAX networks requires accurate measurement of channel response, interference, frequency reuse, and so on.

Broadband Video Streaming during Backhaul WiMAX Handovers

Broadband Video Streaming (BVS) with selective retransmission trades a reduced but acceptable video quality during IEEE 802.16e (WiMAX) hard handover (HHO) for improved end-toend latencies. BVS comes in two forms: selective and unselective retransmission when packet loss occurs. Both forms promise better video quality if an HHO occurs than UDP transport or traditional congestion-controlled stre...

Estimation and Compensation of IQ Imbalance for Both Transmitter and Receiver in WiMAX Systems

WiMAX systems are very popular in wireless communication now-a-days. The main reason behind its popularity is high data rates possible in WiMAX systems. But due to in-phase quadrature imbalance (i.e. IQ imbalance) at the transmitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx), the system performance may be degraded in WiMAX systems. Therefore, it is necessary to compensate for the in-phase quadrature imbalance. In ...

Compact Triple Band Rectangular Microstrip Antenna for Wlan/wimax Applications

A compact triple band rectangular microstrip antenna (RMSA) for WLAN / WiMAX applications is proposed. The antenna operates at three resonance frequencies 2.4/3.2/3.5GHz Covering the WLAN/ WiMAX operating bands, IEEE WLAN protocol 802.11 b/g employs 2.4 GHz and WiMAX 3.5 GHz. The antenna was studied by means of simulations as well as practical measurements. The Triple band characteristics of an...
